by Ana Valenzuela

Let’s get real. The office is where we spend more than half of our week (five out of seven days to be precise). So, why not show off your fashion style that is still typical of a business environment? Don’t know how? We give you some pointers that will surely make your wardrobe a hit!

Go for some prints.

Office wear need not be dull with purely solid tones. There is the houndstooth pattern that seems just right to put on some authority to your style. But, don’t limit yourself with just that. There’s a lot that you can experiment on go for checkered, florals, and paisley prints.  Have fun and put a personal spin to your workwear with your favorite print.

Outerwear makes a difference.

Think about it, a blazer over a shirt and denim jeans? That blazer will certainly boost your office style quotient. With its sartorial elegance, the blazer has become a must-have for just about any working woman. What more this staple has surpassed trends and can be worn as part of your daily office routine and even to sparkling occasions.

Accessorize, but in the right amount.

Coco Chanel once said, “accessories are what makes or marks a woman.” She also gave this advice, “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off.” With that, It’s best to choose pieces that are not distracting. A pair of stud earrings or small hoop earrings matched with a watch is great for a conservative office setting. If you’re in a creative working space, don’t go all out just yet. Leave the flashing rhinestones for drinks later.

The right pair of shoes will always do great.

With all the walking and sitting down routine, it is best to invest in a comfortable pair. Whether you love ballerina flats or high heeled pumps, remember that there are no rules to the height of your shoe wear. However, make sure that you do have your pair polished and cleaned before your time in.

That LBD is always a winner.

A staple in any woman's closet, the little black dress ain’t considered a classic for nothing. Think about Audrey Hepburn with her boatneck sheath dress, Victoria Beckham, and her posh looks, or Sarah Jessica Parker with Carrie’s street-chic style. That little black dress, especially when chosen in the right form, can give you just about the mileage you need.
